How Payroll Overview makes money
Browsing and comparing is free. Here is exactly where our revenue comes from, and what it can and cannot influence.
Payroll Overview earns referral fees from a subset of the payroll providers listed on this site. When you click a link to a provider's website and later become a customer, that provider may pay us a fee. These links are marked with outbound-link attributes, and pages carrying them note the relationship.
We also route proposal requests to matching providers when you ask us to. Some of those providers pay a referral fee for introductions. You are never charged for this, and you are never obligated to proceed with any provider we introduce.
What fees never influence
Referral fees have no effect on which providers we include, how they rank, what score they receive, or which fields we publish. Providers cannot pay for placement, cannot pay to be excluded from a comparison, and cannot review content before publication. Several providers in our shortlists have no commercial relationship with us at all.
Ratings shown on this site are averages of third-party review platforms (G2, Capterra, Trustpilot), never ratings we collect or adjust ourselves.
The full research and ranking criteria are published on our methodology page. If you believe any page reads as though a fee influenced it, tell us and we will review and publish a correction.
Built by a small team of researchers led by Robbin Schuchmann. We read the provider contracts and pricing pages ourselves, and re-check every price quarterly. How we research →
